2026 Photography Competition Theme: "It's the Little Things"
This year’s theme, chosen by Justin Highet: 2025 First Prize Shoot-Out Winner, is inspired by a simple phrase that’s brought comfort and meaning to many: “It’s the little things in life.”
From the quiet beauty of everyday details to fleeting moments of joy, we invite you to capture the seemingly small but deeply significant parts of life. Whether it's the intricate texture of an object, a close-up of a tiny creature, a candid moment with a child, or that cup of coffee you've been looking forward to all week—this theme is about celebrating what might otherwise go unnoticed.
Maybe it's a random act of kindness, a shared smile, the way light hits a familiar corner of your home, or something even more personal. Big or small, staged or spontaneous—if it speaks to you as a "little thing" worth remembering, we want to see it.
Show us the little things that mean a lot.
Submission Deadline: Axel’s is accepting (physical) submissions between January 7 - 10, during business hours. No exceptions will be made for late entries.
